Build the record from your own sources
Collect current balances and purchase records from statements or notes that you control. Keep each asset and account distinct until you have reconciled transfers, so a transfer between your own accounts is not accidentally counted as a new purchase or an extra balance.
An exchange API connection can give a tracker access to account data within the permissions granted. Private Crypto Tracker does not require an exchange account connection or API key; do not paste account passwords or API secrets into tracking software.
Keep it current
After a purchase, sale, reward or transfer, update your record using the app’s manual controls. Without an API or account connection, the tracker cannot import new trades, detect a withdrawal or refresh a balance from the exchange. Choose a review routine that matches your activity and reconcile against your own source records.
Use estimates carefully
A market reference price can help estimate value, but it is not a quote for a trade. A manual portfolio can be useful for awareness and broad performance comparisons while still differing from an exchange statement or tax report.
Common questions
Can I track assets held at several exchanges?
You can enter quantities from different accounts into a manual portfolio, but the app will not connect to those accounts or verify their balances.
