What this calculator measures
Work out a simple weighted average entry cost for a position from purchase quantities, prices and known fees. This result depends on the figures you enter and is for information only, not financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
Formula
Total cost = sum of quantity × purchase price + known fees. Weighted average cost per unit = total cost ÷ total quantity.
Worked example
Buying 2 units at £100 and 1 unit at £130 with £3 total fees gives £333 total recorded cost across 3 units, or £111 per unit.
Understand the limits
Fees: Known fees are included for each buy you enter. Disposals, transfers, taxes and accounting-method rules are not calculated.
Currency: choose GBP, USD or EUR and enter every cash amount and price in that same currency. The selector formats the results; it does not convert mixed-currency inputs.
